My earliest childhood memories were sitting on a barstool at the Uptowner waiting for my mom to get off of work or sitting in the living room in the middle of the night eating left over lobster tails out of a to-go container because my mom brought it home to me after her shift at the Crown House. Ive been in the restaurant business my whole life whether I knew it or not. My mother and grandmother were both waitresses and running around a restaurant with no shoes on chasing my little brother was the norm. My first job was at a golf course and when I graduated from high school and jumped into the work force as a white collared employee in a suit and tie everyday I quickly learned that business path was not for me. All throughout high school I would throw parties at my grandparents house when they were out of town, making drinks for all my friends and friends friends that just showed up before the cops shut us down. So at 21 I thought to myself, why not get paid to be at the party too! I got a job at a nightclub in the town that I lived in as a security guard because thats all that they were hiring for at the time so naturally I jumped on the opportunity thinking I could work my way into the bar to be a bartender. There I discovered a VHS tape with about 50 tricks on it and I because addicted to Flair Bartending from that moment on. The nightclub wouldn’t give me an opportunity to be a bartender so I quit and lied on my next application to get a bartending job. I really didn’t have an Idea what I was doing except I knew I wanted to be a bartender. I was a young kid and all I cared about was making drinks, making tips, and the party. Fast forward 10 or so years. After traveling the country and working next to some of the most talented Flair Bartenders and Mixologist, after winning and losing many competitions, after appearances on film and TV, countless celebrity parties for pseudo celebrities, opening a bottle of booze one day only to wake up a week later asking what had happened, I had to decide to make a viable business out of my unique skill set and the skillets of my peers that we have developed and honed over the last 10 years of debauchery. Mixology Flaired was born out of the necessity for and entertainment Beverage group to emerge in the city of entertainment that was being served by barmen and barwomen that had lost their way. Barmen that were cold, depressed, deep but shallow, pretentious and unimaginative. Staffing companies started calling a few of us for events and it was fun to be face to face with celebrities and show off a little bit. A few celebrities a studio execs began to call us personally to orchestrate cocktail parties at there homes in the hills or banquet halls Downtown at thats when I decided that Los Angeles needed a dedicated Entertainment Beverage Company that was full of excitement. A company by Bartenders that loved to have a good time and put on a show for people. A company that can make Cocktail the movie happen live at your event. Mixology Flaired is focused on bringing the best in beverage entertainment and hospitality to any event big or small and leave you with the tools and techniques to create cocktails for your friends just like we love to do.
